This is a complete specimen of the angel shark Squatina speciosa.It comes from the lithographic limestone deposits in Eichstätt, Germany, famous for their complete, often soft-tissued specimens. These deposits from the Late Jurassic (150 million years old) have also produced fossils of the oldest known bird Archaeopteryx.
