The World's Largest Dinosaurs

On Saturday, April 30, the Museum is hosting a special event for bloggers, tweeters, and their families. Enjoy a private visit to the new exhibition The World's Largest Dinosaurs, which opens on April 16, followed by a light breakfast and family-friendly activities in the Museum's fossil halls.

About The World's Largest Dinosaurs

Discover what life was like for some of the largest dinosaurs ever to walk the Earth. This fascinating exhibition explores the amazing anatomy of a uniquely super-sized group of dinosaurs that thrived for 140 million years: the long-necked and long-tailed sauropods, which ranged in size from 15 to 150 feet long. Examine these creatures' colossal bodies by viewing life-sized bones, muscles, and internal organs and learn how heart rate, respiration, and metabolism are linked to size. Stand next to a 60-foot-long model of Mamenchisaurus, known for its 30-foot-long neck, and get an inside look at the dinosaur's anatomy through video projections and innovative exhibits. A dig pit at the end of the exhibition lets you make your own dinosaur discovery just like a real paleontologist in the field.
