Sulfide sample recovered by ALVIN. The inside is covered with bright yellow chalcopyrite (CuFeS2); white patches are anhydrite (CaSO4); crystals of brown sphalerite (ZnS2). The outer fine, friable black rim is composed of a mixture of sulfide, sulfates, and oxide minerals. Note the tube worm on the right.
