Ingrid Buntschuh
Richard R. Green High School
of Teaching
New York, New York
Grades 9-10

Ingrid teaches Regents Earth Science and Biology at a small (600-650 students) public school in Manhattan which is designed to prepare students for a career in teaching. Ingrid earned her bachelorŐs degree in Biology from The University of Chicago and her masterŐs degree in Secondary Science Education from Columbia University, Teachers College. In the intervening years she taught at Kaharo Secondary School in Murang'a District in Kenya for the Peace Corps. Prior to her six years at the High School of Teaching, she taught for three years at Joan of Arc Junior High School, another public school in Manhattan.

Ingrid is thrilled to be part of the black smoker expedition and the REVEL project, an authentic research experience, and looks forward to sharing her experiences with her students. She loves her students and the energy they bring to the classroom. She hopes that REVEL will help her bring scientific research alive for her students.
