David RandleDavid Randle
Teacher
Science/Museum School
at Middle School 44
New York, New York
Grades 7-8

David has been teaching science at the Science/Museum School for nine years. For the last six years he has been working with the American Museum of Natural History to facilitate a relationship between the museum and the school in which all students visit the museum at least once a week.

REVEL, an authentic research experience, has given David a chance to return to the University of Washington where he earned a B.A. in Zoology. Since moving from Seattle to New York City in 1986, he has received a M.A. in Science Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.

This past January he became a father. He looks forward to the day when he can take his daughter, Lindsey, to the American Museum of Natural History to see the Black Smoker display in the Hall of Planet Earth.
