Copper Pot

Copper is used for cooking pots because it conducts heat very well. Some copper in the Earth is "native copper." This means that it is found on its own, not combined with other elements. Native copper is sometimes found within basaltic rock.

Copper also comes from copper minerals that are made of copper as well as other minerals. Chalcopyrite is a major copper ore mineral.
