Podcast: SciCafe Explores Naughty and Nice

podcast_logoThe American Museum of Natural History’s ongoing SciCafe, an exciting new after-hours series that brings together inquisitive minds for an information evening emceed by experts on cutting-edge science topics, explored the topic ‘Naughty or Nice: The Biological Basis of Greed and Altruism’ on December 2, 2009.

Those in attendance discovered if there is biology behind holiday madness while uncovering the evolutionary and cultural roots of greed and altruism and comparing these seemingly human behaviors to those of other species.  Biologist Lee Dugatkin, University of Louisville, and Rob DeSalle, Curator of Invertebrate Zoology at AMNH, led the discussion and got to the root of what makes us naughty or nice.
