Mancala Board Games

Mancala is a group of board games played with many variations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean and parts of South America. Mancala Board Games discusses the art historical aspects of the boards and gives a brief social and cultural context. Since this book that was published in 1997, many new insights in the history and distribution of mancala games have developed. The results are frequently presented at the yearly Colloquium of Board Game Studies and in the Journal of Board Game Studies.
