Elizabeth Nunan

      Beth Nunan received her MA (2009) with a Certificate of Advanced Study from the Art Conservation Program at Buffalo State College. She completed her graduate internship year in the Anthropology Conservation department at the American Museum of Natural History, began working with Lisa Kronthal Elkin in the Natural Science Conservation lab shortly after graduation, and was hired as an Associate Conservator in 2010.

    Research Interests

      Beth's responsibilities include implementing activities related to disaster preparedness, emergency response and risk management for collections, museum-wide. Additionally, she provides support to scientific staff concerning natural science collections conservation, as needed, as well as internal training for collections, registration and conservation staff. She is active in collaborations for developing improved methods for the treatment and preparation of specimens, preparation of collections for exhibition and travel, and most recently, sustainability as it impacts the collections environment.
