Meals

All rates for overnight lodging include three full meals each day. Food options include vegetarian, no red meat, or omnivore. Advance notice of food option is needed and can be provided at the time of reservation.

From March through October meals are served promptly at 7:30 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 6:00 p.m. Guests eat family style in the dining room or at outside picnic tables, and with a 24 hour notice sack lunches can be provided. For hardy early-birds who would rather be birding at 7:30, a self-serve cold breakfast of cereal and juice can be arranged the night before with the cook and taken between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The kitchen is closed between meals.

For those not staying at the Station, meals can be purchased in the dining hall with 24 hours advance notice. Prices for meals are: Breakfast- $8.00, Lunch- $10.00, and Dinner- $12.00. Payment is due at the time of reservation. If the Station is full, it may not be possible to accommodate this request. Please call to inquire.

Winter Rates

From November 1 through February 28, meals are not included during your stay. However, accommodations with full kitchens are available, and a restaurant is located within five miles of the Station. Linens are provided, however guests are expected to make their own beds.   A three night minimum stay is required.

The Station is closed annually during the last two weeks of December, and reservations are not taken at this time. Since the Station is comprised of a small staff, employees are not able to take holiday nor vacation hours during our open season (spring/summer/fall). It is during the last two weeks of December that our staff are able to enjoy their holiday/vacation time. We appreciate your understanding.

During the winter, a one-time $75 cleaning fee is required at the time of reservation. This fee is fully refundable, should the guest provide a 72 hour (or more) advance notice of cancellation. Upon check-in, guests will be provided with the Station's winter-cleaning protocol. After departure, should the room be found dirty, the $75 fee will not be refunded. If the room is found clean (as outlined in the protocol), the $75 fee will be refunded back to the charged card.

Duplex Room
Cleaning Fee                              $75.00
Single                                          $70.00
Each Additional Person              $10.00

Reservations for spring (March 1-June 15),  fall (Sept. 1-Oct. 31) and winter (Nov. 1-Feb. 28) can be made any time during the year. A $40 per adult deposit is required during the spring and fall, and these deposits must be received within seven working days to guarantee reservations.

Our cancellation policy requires a 72 hour advance notice. If a deposit check has been collected and you have given a 72 hour notice, the deposit will be fully refunded. Deposits made during the spring and fall with credit cards will not be charged to the card unless you fail to give the 72 hour notice. As the summer is our busiest research time, naturalist reservations are taken only two weeks in advance from June 15 to Aug. 31. Reservations will be taken between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Arizona time--see below) seven days a week at 520-558-2396 (winter months Monday-Friday) or email swrs@amnh.org
