One Step Beyond

ONE STEP BEYOND with The Brothers Macklovitch, Prince Klassen, and DIRTYFINGER.

February 3, 2017

Each month AMNH presents a different DJ performing in the Museum’s Rose Center for Earth and Space. Guests can also take a walk up the Cosmic Pathway to the Hayden Big Bang Theater where acclaimed actor Liam Neeson narrates a dynamic flight through the virtual universe based on an accurate cosmic atlas.

Beer and wine will be served at a cash bar. Advance purchase of tickets is recommended to guarantee entry.

The Brothers Macklovitch (Headliner)

After spending years as Kanye West’s tour DJ and consigliere, A-Trak founded the record label Fool’s Gold in 2007 and became a Grammy-nominated producer. He has appeared in campaigns for Adidas, Grey Goose, and Cadillac, and Rolling Stone named him one of the 50 Most Important People in electronic dance music.

Dave 1 has been performing with P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) in Chromeo since 2001. After their debut album, “She's in Control,” released in 2004, DJs began playing their songs all over the world. Chromeo has performed in festivals around the world such as Glastonbury, Reading, and Leeds in the U.K.; Fujirock in Japan; Iceland Airwaves in Iceland; Pemberton Music Festival in Canada; and Coachella, Bonnaroo, Rothbury Festival, and Lollapalooza in the United States.

Prince Klassen  (Support)

After living in Texas, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, Prince Klassen now resides in Brooklyn. His DJ sets range in style, including hip-hop, house, club, cumbia, disco, new wave, and punk. Prince Klassen currently has a residency with The Rub, a mainstay in New York for the last 14 years. He is also the host for the long-running Turntable Lab Radio podcast as well as his own radio show, Wild Combinations, on Brooklyn’s The Lot Radio.

NYC-based DJ DIRTYFINGER began performing in Brooklyn loft parties. Over the last decade, he has performed in venues from The New Museum to Webster Hall, holding down weekly parties at clubs with his Gold Whistle crew and playing events that are staples of the underground scene such as Rubulad and the annual Bike Kill block party. Currently, he has been touring Europe with Zebra Katz and recently played radio shows on Rinse France in Paris and The Lot Radio in Brooklyn.
