Plan Your School or Camp Group Visit

Arrival and Departure

 

The Museum is located on Central Park West between 77th and 81st Streets. The following transportation is available:

 

NYC Subway

The Museum encourages school groups to come by subway. Take the B or C train to the 81st Street stop (at Central Park West), or the 1 train to 79th Street stop (at Broadway). Certificates of Free NYC Transportation are available to NYC school groups accompanied by adult supervisors.

NYC Bus

Take the M7, M11, M10, or M104 to 79th Street, or M79 to Central Park West. From bus stop, go to 81st Street entrance of Museum.

School Bus

Enter the 81st Street driveway, between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West. A Transportation Specialist will meet you and coordinate a departure time. Please adhere to the departure time in order to avoid traffic congestion and confusion.

Coach Bus

Groups arriving by coach buses must use the loading area in front of the Rose Center for Earth and Space on the 81st Driveway. Because of height restrictions coach buses cannot enter the garage and will be processed on the Driveway.

 

Helpful Tips

Please bring your confirmation packet with you to the Museum. Plan to arrive at the Museum at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of a film, Space Show, or timed exhibition. Fees for missed shows are not reimbursable.
