The Department of Anthropology is dedicated to the study of human culture and biology. Members of the Department carry out ethnological research in Asia, Africa, and North and South America, and study such global topics as warfare and the origins of the state. Archaeological fieldwork is carried out throughout America while biological anthropologists work worldwide to study the evolution of humans and their close primate relatives. In addition, the Department maintains extensive collections of objects and artifacts.   Continue to department site >
