DARWIN

"A landmark exhibit...takes pains to point out that no scientific alternative to evolution has been proposed." —Washington Post
"We can no longer imagine a world without Darwin, and this exhibition...helps us understand why." —American Scientist
"Compelling" —Newsweek
"[Darwin] reminds us how well and how fully evolution explains the life around us." —The New York Times

Darwin is an extraordinary, comprehensive discovery of the life, work, broad cultural impact, and legacy of Charles Robert Darwin (1809-1882), best known for his revolutionary theories on evolution and natural selection. The publication of his masterwork, On the Origin of Species (1859), shook society to its core with the suggestion that humans had evolved from other animals rather than being the separate creation of God. Darwin focuses on the evidence that led to his ideas on evolution and examines the current reception and status of Darwinian evolution in modern-day science, and also brings an astounding collection of never-before-seen "Darwiniana" to the United States.

Darwin is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York, in collaboration with the Museum of Science, Boston; The Field Museum, Chicago; the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Canada; and the Natural History Museum, London, England.
