Sweepstakes void where prohibited or restricted by law. Open to legal residents of the U.S. (other than residents of Rhode Island), and Puerto Rico. Subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Persons under the age of 21 must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian in order to enter the sweepstakes. Children under 13 are not eligible to enter the sweepstakes.
Please note: Persons must be 21 and older to attend IFLS Live at the American Museum of Natural History.
Employees of the American Museum of Natural History (“American Museum of Natural History”), and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries and parent companies, and their respective directors, officers, related companies, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and their families or those persons living in the same household of such individuals are ineligible to enter.
How to Enter
Sweepstakes starts on August 21, 2013 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on August 25, 2013, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (the “Promotion Period”). All entries must be received by August 25, 2013, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
Illegible or incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries become the exclusive property of American Museum of Natural History. None will be returned.
Where a dispute arises about who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the e-mail account. You can be entered only once. Multiple entries will be disregarded.
By entering, sweepstakes participants fully and unconditionally agree to be bound by these official sweepstakes rules.
Grand Prize: Five winners will receive two (2) tickets for the winner and one (1) guests to attend IFLS Live at the American Museum of Natural History on August 28, 2013. The tickets are the only prize. All other costs, including transportation, are not included. Approximate value of each prize $30. Total value of prizes $150. All expenses not specifically set forth above as part of the prize package are Grand Prize winner's and/or guest’s responsibility. Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Any federal, state or local taxes due on the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. No substitutions of prizes for other prizes, cash or credit is permitted except by American Museum of Natural History in its sole and absolute discretion, in the event of prize unavailability or otherwise, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Grand prize winners must be able to travel to the museum. Prize won by minors will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian.
The winning entries will be selected in a random drawing held on or about August 26, 2013. The odds of winning a prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received. All decisions of American Museum of Natural History are final and binding. The winner will be notified via the email address provided in the entry. The winner will have 3 days from date of notification to accept the prize by email or U.S. mail to the address specified in the notification.
Failure to accept the prize within the time period stated above, or return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable, will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected at American Museum of Natural History’s sole discretion.
If winner is deemed to be an eligible minor in their state of legal residence, the prize will be awarded in their parent or legal guardian’s name. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited) to use winner's name, likeness, photograph, voice, biographical information and statements for any lawful purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in perpetuity and worldwide, in any and all media, without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
The names of the winners or a copy of the Official Rules can be obtained by sending a written request with a self-addressed stamped envelope (residents of Vermont and Puerto Rico may omit return postage) postmarked prior to October 1, 2013, to:

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, the AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE NEW YORK COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES REGARDING THE SWEEPSTAKES AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK SHALL GOVERN THE SWEEPSTAKES. EACH ENTRANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THESE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS. Violation of these Official Rules in connection with this sweepstakes may, in American Museum of Natural History’s sole discretion, result in disqualification of any entries.
American Museum of Natural History and their respective directors, officers, and employees are not responsible or liable for any illnesses, injury, losses, litigation or damage that may occur from participation in the sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize. American Museum of Natural History and their respective directors, officers, and employees are not responsible or liable for (i) telephone, computer, technical, network, electronic, hardware, or software failures of any kind, (ii) stolen, misdirected, delayed, incomplete, or garbled e-mail, (iii) lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or postage-due mail, or (iv) or any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this sweepstakes. You also agree to defend American Museum of Natural History and their respective directors, officers, and employees and waive any right to pursue any claims of any nature whatsoever arising in connection with your entry and the materials contained with your entry and American Museum of Natural History’s use of them.
American Museum of Natural History reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, modify, or cancel the sweepstakes at any time if technical problems corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the sweepstakes, or for any other reason. In such event, American Museum of Natural History may select winners in a random drawing from among all entries received for the sweepstakes prior to the suspension or cancellation.
