Paleontologist with collection of large dinosaur fossils in the Big Bone Room

Senior Scientific Assistant Carl Mehling in the Big Bone Room, a storage area for large specimens in the Museum's paleontology collections. 

Take part in this exclusive opportunity to visit the collections of the Museum’s Division of Vertebrate Paleontology. Follow experts Carl Mehling and Alana Gishlick into the Preparation Lab and the Big Bone storage room to see how fossils are preserved and maintained. Then, visit the Museum’s Big-Bone storage room to see some of the largest and oldest specimens in the collection. 

Children under 10 are not allowed in the collections. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
