Butterflies! Grades 2 and 3

Monday- Friday, February 17-21, 2014

A little girl uses a magnifying glass to look at a butterfly perched on an orange slice held by an adult.

Study butterflies like a lepidopterist! Observe live butterflies in the Museum’s indoor butterfly conservatory, and learn all about how butterflies evolved and their relationship to moths. In this weeklong camp, scientists-in-training will study metamorphosis, analyze adaptations like bright colors and camouflage, and through interactive, hands-on activities discover why butterflies are important to cultures around the world.
