As the Sun sets around the time of the summer solstice, it perfectly aligns with Manhattan's east-west numbered streets, creating a radiant glow of light across New York City’s brick and steel canyons.

This year, we may not be able to witness this phenomenon together outside the Museum on 79th Street, but join us on Friday, July 10,  for a live, virtual flight across the city’s grid with Museum astrophysicist Jackie Faherty. Learn about the history and astronomy behind this spectacular light display and what makes Manhattanhenge a unique urban phenomenon.

Join the watch party on Friday, 7/10 at 1 pm EDT.
