Hayden Special Event: Earth Day Celebration

Friday, April 21, 2017

The program will celebrate Earth Day with a visually stunning tour of our dynamic planet. Beginning with the Earth’s rise above the Moon, first seen by the Apollo 8 astronauts and the original inspiration for Earth Day, we will explore the many ways scientists use satellite instruments and computer models to monitor global change. This immersive presentation will be led by the Museum’s Director of Astrovisualization Carter Emmart and NASA GISS climate scientist Benjamin Cook, using OpenSpace, the new NASA-funded real-time visualization platform.

Support for Hayden Planetarium Programs is provided by the Horace W. Goldsmith Endowment Fund.
