InSight Lands on Mars

On Monday, November 26, visitors joined the Museum's Director of Astrovisualization Carter Emmart to watch a real-time simulation of NASA's InSight lander touch down on Mars’ Elysium Planitia. Once it landed safely, InSight, which launched in May, began its mission to deploy a seismometer, burrow a heat probe, and perform a radio science experiment to study the internal structure of the red planet.
