“Cosmic Cliffs” in the Carina Nebula.The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has the capacity to look 13.6 billion light years into the distance. In July 2022, this new instrument returned the deepest infrared images of the universe that humanity has ever seen.
Join Museum Senior Scientist Jackie Faherty of the Department of Astrophysics and Director of Astrovisualization Carter Emmart for an evening of space exploration in celebration of the JWST. We’ll follow the path of the telescope to its final home in our galaxy and investigate the most up-to-date data released so far.
