Sunny Weather: Flares, Ejections, and Wind on the Sun

What happens on the sun? Join Alejandro Núñez as he explains the Sun’s amazing atmosphere where unexpected events take place. The atmosphere is more violent and hotter than anyone thought, all thanks to magnetic fields. Giant explosions on the Sun’s atmosphere sometimes affect us here on Earth, even though we are many millions of miles away. Alejandro will explain why the Sun’s atmosphere behaves the way it does and share dramatic videos of the Sun from space telescopes such as SOHO and SDO.

Space is limited and tickets are distributed at the Discovery Room on a first-come, first-served basis for sessions at 2:15, 3:00, and 3:45.
