Coastal wetlands are among the most valuable and threatened ecosystems across the globe. They are essential sources of food as well as safety, and have many cultural uses and significance. Given their threatened status, communities around the world fight tirelessly for the conservation and restoration of these dynamic coastal landscapes. Traditionally, conservation focused on restoring the physical components of an ecosystem without considering the biological and cultural factors.

Join Alex Moore as she describes her research that challenges the traditional understanding of how wetlands are maintained and provides insight on new directions in conservation and restoration practices.
