In March and April 2002, anthropologist Nelson Hancock traveled to eight regional museums in the Russian far east to deliver a small exhibit of twenty-four framed photographs to each. The Russian museums selected are located both in cities such as Yakutia and Petropavlovsk, and in villages such as Tigil and Providenia. Each museum received an exhibit that has been curated to highlight images made in that museum's general vicinity, while still showing the scope of the original expedition.
