For Educators

This hall uses a particular area—the village of Pine Plains and Stissing Mountain in Dutchess County—as a case study to explore the environment of New York State. This area contains mountains, lakes, forests, and farmland.

Use this guide to help you and your students identify and explore patterns and interactions between abiotic (rocks, water, seasons) and biotic factors (plants, animals).
