The Coast Salish made bags of twisted cedarkark fiber. Cedarbark was first shredded by beating it over with a dull flat wooden chapter. The shredded bark was twisted into twine by rubbing it on the thigh with the palm. /bags were made by the twining technique in which the weft threads are in pairs, one of which passes over the warp thread and the other underneath.
