The hooks, lines, and clubs used in halibut fishing are displayed here. Halibut furnished a principal food for the Haida. Their technique of halibut fishing was similar to that used by all the tribes of the Northwest Coast. Baited hooks were set close to the ocean bottom. The fish were caught, dragged to the surface, and killed with a club.
