Snares for ground squirrels

From the Tlingkit people of Alaska, two snares for squirrels, made of bone. It has a long pointed stick and a noose of thin fiber. The top of each stick has a carving of perhaps a squirrel.

Snares for ground squirrels. The stick was stuck into the ground and the loop placed at the animal’s hole so that it was caught around the neck and strangled.
