With a 100-year history of memorable science education and family entertainment, the Science Museum of Minnesota (SMM) welcomes more than one million visitors each year to see its world-class collection of fossils, the nation's only convertible IMAX dome Omnitheater, its trademark hands-on exhibits, and a blockbuster slate of traveling exhibitions. The Science Museum is the most-visited museum in the five-state region and consistently ranks first in Twin Cities rankings for favorite museums and favorite family outings.

In addition to welcoming learners of all ages to its St. Paul location, SMM has numerous research and business operations that have elevated it to a role of international leadership among science museums. The Science Museum is the nation's leading museum producer of large format IMAX films, as well as one of an elite group of organizations that creates and distributes museum exhibits to an international market and custom-builds exhibits for museums across the country. Its scientists and researchers span the globe, frequently publishing their groundbreaking research in paleontology and environmental sciences in leading scientific journals. The Science Museum's collection includes some 1.75 million artifacts.

"The Science Museum of Minnesota is pleased to join the American Museum of Natural History in creating an exhibition on such a timely topic. We strive to be a trusted source for information on important science issues. Water: H2O = Life brings to light some of the critical issues our world is facing today, helping make us more aware of the need to understand and care for our resources as our population grows. It's a natural partnership, and we're very proud of the result."
