News and Updates

Almost a year after making its world premiere at the 2013 Margaret Mead Film Festival and a successful world tour, Gringo Trails, by filmmaker Pegi Vail, returns to New York City for its theatrical premiere at Cinema Village. The film shows September 4-11.

Are tourists destroying the planet--or saving it? From the Bolivian jungle to the party beaches of Thailand, and from the deserts of Timbuktu, Mali to the breathtaking beauty of Bhutan, Gringo Trails shows the unanticipated impact of tourism on cultures, economies, and the environment, tracing some stories over 30 years. This entertaining and groundbreaking doc reveals the footprint tourism leaves behind.
