The Margaret Mead Film Festival is excited to announce that it will be co-hosting the world premiere of French filmmaker Stéphanie Gillard’s new documentary The Ride at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.

The Ride lets viewers travel along with young men and women of the Lakota Sioux nation on their annual 300-mile trek on horseback through the Badlands of South Dakota—a journey that provides travelers an unparalleled opportunity to reflect upon the history of their ancestors.

An intimate, stunningly photographed account of this unique passage, The Ride captures the thoughts and emotions of the young riders and the adults who guide them along their journey.
