Film: Reefs Illuminated Premiering Sunday, April 14

For an evocative look at a glowing underwater world, come to the Museum Sunday, April 14, to see Reefs Illuminated, set in the remote South Pacific coral reefs of the Solomon Islands. The film premieres at 11 am, during the Milstein Science Series: Island Life program.

In this new film, Museum scientists John Sparks, David Gruber, and Vincent Pieribone journey to the Solomon Islands to explore newly discovered biofluorescent species of fishes and stingrays, along with biofluorescent corals, crinoids, anemones, and other glowing invertebrates. The 14-minute film premieres at 11 am Sunday, April 14, in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, in the GeoDome theater; it will run continuously that day until 4 pm. From Monday, April 15, to Friday, May 3, the film airs during Museum hours.
