Celebrate Earth Day by tuning into Saving My Tomorrow Part Three, the latest installment of the six-part documentary series presented by HBO and the Museum that delves into how children can protect the planet’s future from pollution, climate change, and other environmental concerns. The episode debuts on HBO at 7:30 ET.
In this Earth Day special, Dr. Christopher Filardi takes a group of children on a special tour behind the scenes at the Museum, using hippopotamus specimens from the collection to help educate viewers about the interconnected nature of ecosystems.
Featuring readings by actors Laura Dern and Alan Cummings, plus performances by They Might Be Giants and the late songwriter Pete Seeger, this episode also follows young environmentalists as they plant trees in an effort to decrease carbon dioxide levels and find ways to bring attention to the staggering scale of plastic pollution.
“Our children will inherit the planet,” says Ellen V. Futter, president of the American Museum of Natural History. “So it is only fitting that their thoughts, concerns and inherent love of nature be part of the larger conservation discussion, particularly in light of the increasingly urgent challenges posed by climate change.”
Saving My Tomorrow Part Three premieres Wednesday, April 22 at 7:30 PM ET/PT.
