October at the Museum

We’re counting down to October, when the Museum’s fall season really starts heating up.

First, walk among the butterflies when our Butterfly Conservatory, a 1,200-square-foot vivarium filled with tropical plants and 500 live fluttering insects, returns on October 7.

More of a movie buff? We’ve got 40 documentaries from 42 countries screening at the 2017 Margaret Mead Film Festival beginning October 19, including the world premiere of Lunar Tribute, which follows astronaut Charlie Duke as he recounts his journey to the Moon.

And finally, whether you like candy or constellations, we’ve got you covered for Halloween. Come trick-or-treat in the Museum’s halls at our Halloween Celebration on Saturday, October 28, with activities for kids, musical performances, and more. Or spend Halloween night at the Hayden Planetarium, where a special Astronomy Live will shock you with the spookier things about the cosmos.

Visit the Museum in October for these programs and much, much more!
