Looking for things to do during Presidents' Day weekend and the Midwinter school break from February 17–21?

Make a beeline to the Museum. Here’s a roundup of the fun that awaits the whole family:

Come out of the cold into the tropical temperatures of The Butterfly Conservatory, where you’ll find 500 free-flying butterflies and moths from around the world in their carefully recreated natural habitat. Explore our solar system in the Hayden Planetarium Space Show Worlds Beyond Earth. Or teeter on the edge of a volcanic crater in the giant-screen film Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation, screening daily in 2D or 3D.

While you're here, don’t miss an up-close look at the most iconic dinosaur in the world in the special exhibition T. rex: The Ultimate Predator. Learn about T. rex and the entire tyrannosaur superfamily through life-sized models, fossils and casts, and engaging interactives, including a virtual reality experience for ages 12 and up.

And on Presidents' Day—yes, we’re open for the holiday on Monday, February 17—take advantage of extra morning hours in the Discovery Room as it operates on a weekend schedule all week long.
