Roy Chapman Andrews

During the 1920s, Roy Chapman Andrews led the first AMNH expeditions to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. This bold explorer and real-life "Indiana Jones" inspired many people to pursue paleontology. Andrews, who began his career sweeping floors at the Museum, eventually became the Museum's Director.
