This is an unpublished micrograph of an fossilized upper molar of Saimys, a Miocene ctenodactyloid rodent from Xinjiang, China. Xinjiang is a well known area in China for exuviating dinosaur and some mammal fossils. Cave paintings from early Buddhist hermit monks can also be found within the aera.
