From cinema and music to photography and printmaking, the arts are a dynamic and constantly evolving part of life in Cuba. In conjunction with the Museum’s current exhibition ¡Cuba!, renowned Cuban poster artist Raul “Raupa” Valdes demonstrates the art of screen printing. Learn about the tradition of poster art in Cuba and create a piece to take home. 



About the Speaker

Raul “Raupa” Valdes is a graphic designer, illustrator, and audiovisual director. He has participatedin both solo and group exhibitions. Raupa works today as an independent artist, and is responsible for images of events and institutions of great importance in the Cuban culture. His work encompasses two fields: graphic design and film “motion graphics,” both drawn from the language of illustration, animation, and video.
