Museum archaeologist Frances Forrest takes us on a family-friendly tour of her fieldwork in northern Kenya, where she is part of the Koobi Fora expedition conducted in  collaboration with the Nairobi National Museum. The expedition searches for fossils that provide clues about human evolution, and the large, prolific site at Koobi Fora has provided scientists with findings about nearly all of the history of human evolution–from 4 million years to 10,000 years ago.

Find out how different fossils from various areas of the site tell unique stories about human behavior including tool use, interaction with other species, and even ancient human diet.

Watch a recording of the livestream, first aired on Thursday, October 15, 2020.
