CAEP Annual Reporting

As a component of CAEP accreditation, every Education Preparation Provider (EPP) must report and prominently display data on its website relating to eight Annual Reporting Measures established by CAEP. EPPs may select the data they present as long as it is appropriate to CAEP's measures.

Measure 1: Impact on P-12 learning and development (Component 4.1)

The AMNH RGGS MAT program has continued to partner with Dr. Meryle Weinstein from New York University to monitor program graduates’ impact on student learning and development. The most recent findings can be found in the report titled "AMNH RGGS MAT ESRP Report Years 1-6 June 2020" below.

Measure 2: Indicators of teaching effectiveness (Component 4.2)

The MAT program provides all graduates with two years of intensive support following their graduation through the New Teacher Induction program. The program devotes two doctoral-level clinical faculty members to the Induction Program. By working closely with MAT graduates for two years after they complete the program—through observations in their classrooms and facilitated meetings with their MAT colleagues at AMNH—MAT induction faculty are able to carefully monitor participants’ development over time and, more specifically, their uptake of instructional strategies and perspectives taught in the program. Additionally, because induction faculty are familiar with the pre-service part of the MAT program, they are well-equipped to support the implementation of program practices and are in a good position to provide the program with substantive feedback on the influence of both the MAT program as a whole and, more specifically, the induction component on graduates’ instructional effectiveness through observation debriefs and classroom conferencing. Measure 3: Satisfaction of employers and employment milestones (Component 4.3)

In partnership with its external evaluator, the MAT program monitors the satisfaction of employers through a hiring principal survey. Details of the results of the hiring principal survey can be found on pages 29-31 of the "2019-2020 of the AMNH RGGS ESRP External Evaluation Report" linked below.

Measure 4: Satisfaction of completers (Component 4.4)

In partnership with its external evaluator, the MAT program monitors the satisfaction of completers through a completer satisfaction survey. Details of the results of the satisfaction survey can be found on pages 26-29 of the "2019-2020 of the AMNH RGGS ESRP External Evaluation Report" linked below.

Measure 5: Graduation Rates

As shown in the table below the program has an overall graduation rate of 93.94%.

Measure 6: Ability of completers to meet licensing (certification) and any additional state requirements

Graduates from the MAT program have a 100% success rate in receiving their state certification. All MAT graduates are recommended for an Initial Certification in teaching Earth Science Grades 7 – 12 in New York State.

Measure 7: Ability of completers to be hired in education positions for which they have prepared

For graduates that actively sought employment, 100% received an offer of employment.

Measure 8: Student loan default rates and other consumer information

As all candidates in the program receive a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition, textbook, and certification costs as well as $30,000 stipend for living expenses, student loans are not available for candidates in the program.
