Kate Zidar is an Environmental Planner and Biologist with a professional focus on watersheds and solid waste management. Kate is a prominent advocate for Green Infrastructure in New York City, and has worked in the private, public and non-profit sectors on water quality policy and practice. She holds a Masters of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Colorado. As an educator, Kate has collaborated with classroom teachers and non-profit organizations to create innovative curricula specific to New York City’s urban environment. Kate teaches popular graduate courses at Pratt Institute's Programs for Sustainable Planning & Development. In addition, she teaches in Pratt's Center for Continuing & Professional Studies as a founding instructor for the Green Infrastructure certificate program, the first credential of its kind in NYC.
