Michelle Kennedy teaches introductory chemistry and computer science in a Queens, New York high school. She’s been at her current school for the last three years, and previously taught Earth Science, living environment, and robotics. She holds a master’s degree in chemistry education from Hunter College and an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While in college, she participated in research on the ecology of the Hudson River as well as on the development of biological grafts for blood vessels and drug delivery patches.

When not teaching, Michelle likes to play video games, watch Netflix, and read science fiction and fantasy books. In the winter she spends most of her time trying to stay warm and in the summer she enjoys hiking outside of the city with friends. She loves to travel. A favorite trip so far was a visit to Japan, where she climbed Mt. Fuji, walked through beautiful temples in Kyoto, and ate more bowls of ramen than she could count. In the future, she hopes to travel to Australia and road trip down the west coast.
