The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affected communities of color across the U.S., but why?

How has a legacy of systemic racial inequality in the United States contributed to higher rates of infection and death and lower rates of vaccination in communities of color?

Join First Deputy Commissioner and Chief Equity Officer of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Torian Easterling, M.D., to find out how the history of medical treatment and mistreatment in the BIPOC community set the stage for inequities during the pandemic and what we can do to reach equity in the future.

Teen SciCafe events are intended for students 14 and older.

Tickets are free: RSVP to reserve a spot.
