Education

In May 2012 Julia received her MA with an Advanced Certificate in Conservation from The Conservation Center, Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Previous to her time at AMNH, Julia worked at the Archaeological Exploration of Sardis in Turkey, and interned at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC as well as the New Bedford Whaling Museum in New Bedford, MA.

Research Interests

Julia was an important contributor in the recent projects concerning dioramas in the Hall of Biodiversity, the Hall of North American Mammals, and the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall, and conducts ongoing research into materials and techniques for the conservation of taxidermy collections.

Teaching Experience

Julia co-teaches an advanced graduate course in Conservation Strategies for Natural Science Collections with Fran Ritchie at The Conservation Center, Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
