Seminars and Retreats at SWRS

SWRS Dining Hall

The Station makes an ideal location for faculty/staff retreats, conferences, workshops, reunions, and all types of gatherings. Conservation conferences, university seminars, writing and painting workshops, martial arts training groups and a wide variety of other organizations have enjoyed our hospitality, generally in the spring and fall when space is not fully booked by our researchers. Our remote location makes for few distractions, except of course our spectacular scenery and abundance of wildlife.
Our Education Building provides seating for up to 120 people. Equipped with state of the art projectors and screens as well as a PA system, tables, chairs, and wireless internet, it is ideal for gatherings both large and small.
Our conference room resides in the original ranch house alongside our kitchen and dining hall. This room is also equipped with a projector, screen, and PA system accommodating up to 60 people. We can even stoke up the fireplace on a cold fall night.
The Osborne Memorial Laboratory has hosted breakout sessions for previous meetings with space for approximately 50 people. Portable projectors and screens can be provided.
Many groups have taken advantage of our outdoor spaces with picnic tables and our pool to conduct meetings. With 100 acres of property abutting National Forest, there are abundant opportunities to move the meeting outdoors.
