Research Interests

Amanda Sigouin is a Biodiversity Specialist at the Center for Biodiversity and Conservation (CBC). She holds a M.A. in Conservation Biology from Columbia University, where she completed a thesis on the wildlife trade and how market surveys can be used to more efficiently monitor trade and enforce restrictions. Her research interests include the development and application of biocultural approaches to conservation, capacity development and all aspects of the wildlife trade. Prior to joining the CBC, Amanda worked as a research assistant for the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) where she analyzed the use of bushmeat in Asia with a focus on its importance for local livelihoods. Amanda also holds a B.A. in Economics and a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Michigan.
