Education

Morgan received her B.S. in Evolutionary Anthropology from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She has studied and excavated Paleoanthropological sites in Kenya, and takes special interest in early human origins in East Africa. Prior to the American Museum of Natural History, she has done work at museums in Nairobi, Kenya, and at Rutgers.

Research Interests

Joining the Microscopy and Imaging Facility in 2011, Morgan works with any researcher from every division of science at the Museum to answer new investigative scientific questions. She applies the various tools that the Facility has to offer to any project that a student, or curator, or visiting researcher may be undertaking and assists them to complete whatever work is needed. Quite often Morgan is asked to contribute to a project that is challenging or technically advanced, and enjoys being able to break up the everyday technical, administrative, and repair work with some biology. Morgan is also often invited to engage in outreach and educational events, and developed graduate level courses on instrumentation for science.
