Part of One Step Beyond

The American Museum of Natural History continues its party series One Step Beyond with a Quiet Events® Party on Friday, May 18. The event will take place in the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe, where guests will receive headphones that can tune into one of three DJ sets: top 40 dance hits and electric dance music; 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s throwbacks; or trap and hip-hop. Each DJ will be associated with a different color, and lights on each guest’s headphones will signal to DJs and to other guests who is listening to which set—as the DJs try to battle for the biggest crowd.

How it works:
When you arrive you’ll receive a pair of special wireless headphones. You can adjust the volume and choose between up to three DJ’s with a flip of a switch. Each headset has a color LED that shows what channel you are listening to. It’s super social; you’re in control of the music! There’s no loud music that you have to talk over. Plus, there’s no ringing in your ears when you leave!

At this party series, guests can dance in the Museum’s Rose Center for Earth and Space to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. Guests can also enjoy the Hayden Big Bang Theater, located in the lower part of the Hayden Sphere, which features a dynamic multimedia presentation narrated by acclaimed actor Liam Neeson that takes visitors on a thrilling four-minute trip from Earth to the edge of the visible universe.

Beer and wine will be served at a cash bar. Advance purchase of tickets is recommended to guarantee entry.
