Lance Jones is the Museum Specialist for the bee collection in the Division of Invertebrate Zoology. With a background originally in botany, he worked in the herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden for more than 7 years before joining the Division of Invertebrate Zoology in 2019. For the past 3 years he has been pursuing research in entomology. His primary interest concerns true flies (Diptera), especially species-level taxonomy and morphology. He is revising the North American species of a genus of fruit flies (Drosophilidae).
