To locate a book, search the Library Catalog for the book by title or author. Once you have identified a book, note the call number and location to find the book in the Library. If you do not know the exact title or author's name, you may do a keyword or subject search to locate the book or books on a similar topic. For additional help searching the catalog, see Catalog Help.
To locate a print journal, search the Library Catalog for the journal by title. Once you have identified the journal, note the call number and location to find the journal in the Library. To locate an electronic journal, search the Library Catalog for the journal by title or ISSN. Once you have identified the journal, click the access online button to access the electronic version. Please note that access to licensed content off-site is only available with an AMNH staff login. For further information, see off-site access to e-resources.
If you are looking for a specific article title, you can search our Library Catalog to find the article. If we have access to the full text online, you will see a link to the full text in the catalog record. To search for articles on a specific topic, you can do a database search. Select a database from the list. The descriptions of each database should provide you some context on the type of content the database contains.
Once you have a citation for the article, you can check the Library Catalog for access to the full text article. If the AMNH Library does not subscribe to the journal that contains the article that you need, staff may request an interlibrary loan.
